5 - 12 Vocal Music
Thanks for viewing this page! I graduated high school from Haven High School, Haven, KS in 2004. From there, I started college at Friends University to get my major in Music, emphasis Vocal Performance, and wanted to minor in Psychology. However, I soon found out about a program at the University of Kansas for Music Therapy, so in 2006 I transferred here to pursue my degree in Music Education emphasis Music Therapy. I graduated from K.U. (Rock Chalk!) in 2011 after a six month-long internship at United Cerebral Palsy of Miami in Florida. I currently run a private practice – Heartland Music Therapy – and am now attending Wichita State University to get my Master of Arts in Teaching.

Welcome to this page! This is my 6th year teaching in the Belle Plaine school district. I am the Vocal Instructor for grades 5– 12, and also teach HS Guitar & Stage Production. I am very excited to start working with all students as well as getting to know families.
I previously worked for Sumner Mental Health Center from 2012 – 2017 working with children and their families while concurrently running my music therapy private practice. Before this, I was a paraprofessional at Stanley Elementary from 2011 – 2012. From January to June 2011, I was in my music therapy internship at United Cerebral Palsy of Miami in Florida.
Welcome to my Family page! I married my husband John in October of 2011. We have 2 sons, 2 cats and 2 small dogs! As a family, we love to go hiking, fishing, and play disc golf. We also love to atttend live concerts.
In my spare time, I love to play guitar, piano, ukulele, sing (of course!) and garden. Fall is my favorite season!
